Nutrition Services Center Freezer Expansion

This project consisted of limited demolition of the exterior of an existing metal building that housed a large freezer for the Washoe County School District Nutrition Services that provides lunches to the various schools in the district. This addition was a structural steel metal framed building sided with siding to match the existing. Inside was a 3,000 sq ft freezer approximately 22 feet high to be used as a food storage facility. Working with the owner, designer and our subcontractors we were able to save the owner $275,000 +or- as well as lower the annual operating cost by $5,688.00. This doubled the storage available cold storage area. When the project was completed the existing freezer and the new were tied together with an insulated opening and coiling over head door.
